I am currently a nursing student and working towards a career in labor and delivery. I will also continue my career as a nurse by obtaining a doctoral degree in midwifery and women's health. Afterwhich, I will practiced as a midwife.

After having my third boy I looked at getting back in to school to become a midwife. I considered many degree options and different career paths and chose a Direct Entry Master's of Nursing Program. With this, I was able to build on the knowledge and degree I already earned, while gaining the necessary skills to move forward.

While in college, I majored in Human Biology with the intention of going to medical school and becoming a Obstetrician. I became apart of Tri-Beta Biology Honors Society and became a mother to my two oldest boys. My personal birthing experiences changed my perspective and steered me towards midwifery.

PHILOSOPHY
For so many generations women were experts and supported each other in child birth as well as throughout life. Over the past few generations this has changed making child birth a clinical experiences in which one comes in with a "disease" to be "cured" of. I plan to reestablish the norm of women giving strength to other women not only in child birth but also in life. I want the birthing experience to be a celebrated life and family event that is not to be feared but embraced. Furthermore, I want to create a network of women that collaboratively uplift, empower and strengthen each other.

I hope to build a community that promotes health first and then treats symptoms and disease by considering all aspects of a persons life. Our health contribution will be the positive support of and interdependant connections to people.
My Practice
I wish to provide a safe place for women to let down their guard, feel protected and empowered. Trust, honesty, and compassionate understanding are my responsibility to maintain in myself and require from others.
Caring
I believe all women have an abundant amount of power for caring and nurturing, creating and building. I strive to offer a place where they are in turn cared for nurtured and built up. I will demonstrate this by listening, understanding and helping in the way they want to be helped.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
I volunteer at humility homes by helping gather and organize supplies for homeless shelters and individuals in need.
I help teach Sunday school at my church for ages 3-5.
I donate used toys and clothes for toys for tots and Winney's Wishes.
